I was leaving Cotton Hall one day and saw all the tractors lined up. I don't think they lined them up on purpose or maybe they did. Anyway there is something special about a tractor. Every kid loves them even adults. There are tractor pull competitions which are really alot of fun. We used to go some of them over in Georgia. My Dad still has an old John Deere tractor. I remember it well. He had it when I was growing up. There's something about tractors.

Great Fun/ Frayed Nerves
I'm going way back into the archives. This is the
winning car from the Hardeeville Race track. Don won the Championship in 2002. This car has been all over Georgia & Jacksonville. The car sits on the trailer back towards the woods. I guess you would say from glory to pitiful now. We had some great times racing. I sometime look at it and think how sad it is just sitting there. Then I think about how nervous I used to be. I'm not sure if it will ever come out of retirement again,
but you never know.

Fall Flowers
Saturday was a beautiful day. I decided to clean the pool to get ready for closing it up. I was looking at all the flowers that were blooming.
My gardenias are blooming. I love the smell of them. It brings back memories of my childhood.
My Mama had a lot of Gardenia bushes. I would just smell & smell them such a sweet fragrance.
Look at the blue sky in the background. It looks like the tropics. I was trying to catch a little yellow butterfly on the purple flowers. I think I got him on another picture that I didn't blog.

The Wheels on the Hay Baler go Round & Round
This hay baler is over at Cotton Hall. Everytime I go by I say to myself "Self you should blog that" so today I did . The baler for some reason really intrigues me. I like the wheels. I think this is an ancient baler which I think gives it character. I happened to see a bale of hay nearby so I took a picture of it also.

Lasagne
I chose Lasagne for my recipe challenge. This is very easy. It is a quick version & always turns out well. It makes a lot so its a good thing to have for your family.
1- lb. Hamburger (or about 2 lbs if you want)
cook over medium heat brown & drain.
1 - Jar of prepared spaghetti sauce 30 oz.
(I use Prego traditional )
Heat meat & sauce. 5 min. (I like to let mine simmer a while if there is time.)
2. In a small bowl combine ricotta cheese & 1- egg, salt 1/2 tsp. Pepper 1/4 tsp. mix together.
3. Spoon 1 1/2 cups sauce into 13x9x2 baking dish.; top with half the uncooked lasagne, all
the ricotta mixture, 1 cup mozzarella, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, 1 1/2 cups sauce, then remaining lasagne. Top with remaining sauce, mozzarella & parmesan. ( I don't go exactly by the 1 1/2 cups sometimes its a little over)
4. Cover tightly with foil. Bake in 350 oven 45 minutes. Remove foil; bake 15 min. longer until lightly browned. Let stand 15 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
Enjoy! ( You need about 9 to 10 Mueller's lasagne noodles ( 8 0z. ) Uncooked ) 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided sometime I use more cheese
1 cup parmesan divided (I use a little more) 1 Jar of prepared spaghetti sauce
1 Egg , 1/2 tsp. salt , 1/4 tsp. pepper 30 oz.
1 container (15 oz. ) ricotta cheese

We Have Pecans
We have pecans. We have alot of trouble when we have pecans. People seem to think because we have them they are entitled to have a free for all. People steal them when we leave work. The week-ends they load up. They drive up here like they have permission. We have people stop here to ask can they pick some pecans. I can't believe it! People we don't even know!
This is the Grand old pecan tree that I posted back in the summer. One of the shots today has spider webs which I thought looked spooky on this gloomy day.

The Hair Day
Only my hairstylist knows for sure. I love Margie! She has been doing my hair for about 18 years now. As you all know I have natural curly hair. Most people say oh I wish I had your hair.
Actually its not all that curly its WAVY which is a pain! My hair has a natural wave around the crown of my head. When the wave gets so bad I can't control it I have to have a body perm for control. This is longest I have gone 1 1/2 years without getting my perm. Yesterday I had "The Perm" I am now in CONTROL! YEAH! You see the process here & the finished product.

Morning Sun
There is nothing like the fresh early morning sun. So crisp yet so subtle. I love the start of each day how everything comes alive. I was out with the dogs this morning and just saw the beauty
of the sun shining in the woods through the trees. (I had no idea Anita & I were on the same wave link today) She did the sunset.

Wonders of Nature
We have been studying in Sunday School about creation. I was on the way to post office this afternoon when these sights caught my eye. How majestic are those clouds?? Even though a storm was brewing look at the beauty! I know everyone has a problem with the kudzu. But it looked like it was cascading down as I approached the curve. It had rain drops that glistened on the leaves. It shows that there is beauty in everything. We just have to look for the good.

Coca Cola Sign
Sign of the times. You just don't see these anymore. Mr. John Platt had this sign. I really think it came off of his Father's grocery store in Sheldon. Carmen was cleaning out the shed after
Mr. John passed away. She called Don to help her move some things & throw them away. She asked Don if he wanted the sign. We had the sign
hanging on the outside wall of the pool house. We took it down to paint the pool house and still have not hung it up again. I think its a cool sign.

Great Chef
Last night we went to Bateaux's. It was a girls night out. It ended up with 5 of us. Jessica, me, Nadia( my friend from down at the river). Rose and Rachel joined us to celebrate Rachel's birthday. Some of you may recognize this handsome chef. I'm his Mom so I have bragging rights! He prepared a special appetizer for us. It was DELICIOUS! I'm not sure I can tell you the proper name or wording. It went something like this. A carrot juice something, with corn something, with crab & a lavender bean infusion. Please don't let Miles know I couldn't remember the correct wording. I would be in trouble. He served it in a expresso cup with a grape tomatoe on the side with a salad inside the tomatoe (like a crab salad?) For my appetizer I went out of my comfort zone. I tried the Duck Confit "Taquito"
(Wonderful.) Miles has wanted me try it forever so I did. I also had the Grilled Neiman Ranch Pork chop. SOOOOOOOOOOOO good! Of course dessert ! I had the Buttermilk Cocoa cake. AGAIN!! It was a great leisurely dinner with great friends. I couldn't ask for more. By the way did I mention HOW PROUD I am of my Chef??? We need to plan a blog night out girls!

Dessert Anyone?
I have learned having two Chefs around can cause you to do creative things. Jessica is having a bit of a bad week. She told me the meal her Mom would prepare when she needed comfort. So I fried chicken made mashed potatoes and green peas and strawberry shortcake. The simple version of strawberry shortcake. I decided to be a little creative with the chocolate syrup. It's for presentation you know LOL. She took the picture to prove to Miles I do pay attention.
